The goal of this project was to create an illustration that effectively explained defamation liability coverage. The design highlighted both the personal and legal consequences of defamation while showcasing how insurance coverage can serve as a critical safeguard.
The design process began with exploratory pencil sketches. A central element—a tablet displaying a live public chat—was chosen to represent the digital nature of modern defamation scenarios. Two characters flanking the tablet illustrated the personal back-and-forth dynamic, while supporting elements such as a legal document and scales of justice emphasized the legal ramifications of the coverage.
Once the concept was finalized, the sketches were imported into Adobe Illustrator and meticulously transformed into vector graphics. The artwork was carefully organized with named layers and grouped shapes to facilitate future animation as an SVG. To enhance flexibility, I also created simplified versions of the illustration using a limited color palette. These variations were optimized for easy customization, ensuring they could be quickly adapted to align with partner branding guidelines.
