The design challenge for this postcard mailer was to seamlessly integrate an existing art element created by a renowned artist in the tech space at the time, aligning it with our product's Quality of Service (QoS) message.
To achieve this, I began by extending the background color and texture to the right side of the image using cloning techniques in Photoshop. Next, I imported the artwork into Illustrator, where I layered in a series of dynamic lines to emphasize key design elements. Particular attention was given to selecting a unique typeface that balanced readability with a playful, hand-drawn aesthetic. By carefully adjusting the kerning, leading, and glyph variations, I enhanced the overall hand-crafted feel of the design.
Once the visual elements were finalized, the print-ready artwork was assembled in QuarkXPress. The final piece was exported as a high-resolution PDF and sent to the print shop. The design was printed on premium heavy cardstock and finished with a medium-sheen varnish, adding a polished and professional touch.
This project exemplified a thoughtful balance of artistic integration, typography, and technical execution to create a visually compelling and impactful marketing piece.
