Designing a catalog featuring 50 different power products, each with multiple models, presents the challenge of organizing information for quick access and comprehension. For the Ametek Programmable Power Catalog, I streamlined the design by focusing on the datasheets for each product. Each datasheet features a color-coded information block in the upper right corner for clear categorization: red for DC power, blue for AC power, green for solar products, and orange for load and test equipment. This block prominently displays key specifications like power, voltage, amperage, and special features in a structured layout.
Building the catalog was then a matter of compiling these datasheets and organizing them by ascending power ratings. This intuitive structure allows users to flip through the upper corners of the catalog and quickly locate products matching their power requirements. Combined with a polished cover design, technical notes, and related articles, the result is a catalog that is both easy to maintain and a highly effective sales tool.
